HIVE HEROES

A Trailblazing Fusion of Art, Science, & Play

Welcome to HIVE HEROES, an interactive journey where Art, Science and Play merge to reveal the powerful healing secrets of honeybee hives.

Inspired by the pioneering research of The Maori Lab (University of Cambridge) into the RNA cooperation between organisms, this immersive digital experience offers a glimpse into the collaborative survival strategies of honeybees and invites you to become part of the story.

In this game, you will transform into a ‘worker bee’, where, equipped with wearable technology, you will embark on a collective mission to combat the spread of a fast-moving virtual virus.

Based on the ground-breaking concept that honeybees could share immunity by storing antiviral RNA in a healing cell, HIVE HEROES challenges you to apply the wisdom of the hive in a fast-paced, cooperative environment. The task is clear: work together with your fellow ‘worker bees’ to protect the hive and stop the virus in its tracks.

HIVE HEROES isn’t just about playing a game. Your participation will contribute directly to science.

Data and insights collected from the gameplay will support ongoing research into RNA cooperation between organisms at The Maori Lab. Not only will it help advance our understanding of how organisms share immunity, it may one day transform how we respond to real-world global health crises.

Designed for ages 7 and up. Explore the hive. Learn from the bees. Become a HIVE HERO.
