Colony Collapse

Bees are dying due to multiple and interacting causes: habitat loss, parasites and viruses, climate change, pesticide use, modern farm practices. Combined, all of these factors contribute to what is known as: Colony Collapse Disorder, the focus of this project.

As well as providing temporary housing and shelter for solitary bees and other pollinators, “Colony Collapse” demonstrates the delicate balance between the natural and the ‘lived’ world: the role that we all must play in protecting the environment and looking after the most vulnerable.

“Colony Collapse” seeks to inspire, to challenge and to provoke conversation about our impact on the environment and the world around us. It aims to make people stop and think about their interconnectedness and what more we could do to build and sustain healthy communities within an uncertain and changing world.
